ColdFire: How It Works

PRIMARY (WARM) VEHICLE

This is an outboard installation of the ColdFire system for ease of use, but is only one of many options. Including the most common installation into the firewall under the hood.
SECONDARY (COLD) VEHICLE

ColdFire can be installed on any vehicle. Cars, pickup trucks, loaders, gas or diesel.

1.

Pull vehicles together close enough for hoses to reach from ColdFire to ColdFire. Then turn heater in both vehicles to hot & on.

2.

Connect hoses, in a crossed configuration  or parallel configuration.

**Depending on your vehicles, refer to manual for more details.

3.

Switch both ColdFire valves to the BYPASS position.

4.

Return to warm vehicle, until you have reached your desired starting temperature.

**Refer to manual operating instructions.

5.

Start cold vehicle. Switch Coldfire valves to NORMAL and disconnect hoses.

"By connecting two ColdFire equipped vehicles together, you can use the engine of your already warm vehicle to heat the coolant of a vehicle that has been left out in the cold. The hydraulic hoses connecting the two vehicles keep both vehicles from losing any coolant. After hooking up the hoses it's as simple as turning the valves to bypass mode and sitting in the comfort of your pre-warmed vehicle and waiting only minutes before starting your cold vehicle. That's it, it simply and reliably solves the problem of cold starting a vehicle."
